How the Math Works

Concentration = vial size (mg) × 1000 ÷ water added (ml) = mcg per ml

Dose volume = desired dose (mcg) ÷ concentration (mcg/ml) = ml to draw

Units = dose volume (ml) × 100 = marks on a standard insulin syringe
